Rías Baixas Wine Route

Sunsets on the beach, long meals, walks through vineyards, routes through impressive landscapes … what more could you ask for a trip? Along the Rías Baixas Wine Route you will enjoy a route with footpaths at the foot of the sea, wide extensions of vineyards, maritime activities, museums, wine tastings of the Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin, first class accommodation and restaurants and a wide wine heritage.

This route includes five sub-zones – O Rosal, Condado do Tea, Soutomaior, Val do Salnés and Ribeira do Ulla – at your disposal to create your own itinerary. Each of these areas has peculiarities that make them unique and, in all of them, you will find different activities to adapt and personalize the experience.

This Route extends its roots in the most unique Galicia, the Rías Baixas, an area marked by a mosaic of blue and green tones that combines the Atlantic Ocean with the fertile Galician lands. From the Ribeira do Ulla area, in the vicinity of Santiago de Compostela, to the O Rosal area, on the Portuguese border, passing through the famous lands of Salnés, the Rías Baixas Wine Route crosses most of the territory from north to south, from the west-south of Galicia, tracing an interesting route through beautiful landscapes of vineyards, rounded coasts, calm rivers and fertile valleys marked by the gentle breath of the Atlantic Ocean.

All the areas and their wineries share a great winemaking tradition that has allowed them to be recognized for the quality of their wines and form part of the Rías Baixas Designation of Origin. The cultivation of good wine has also favored the emergence of excellent local gastronomy.

In addition, each of the areas offers landscapes, traditions and a differentiated and unique cultural reality that give it its own personality and make the Rías Baixas Wine Route unique.

From the Rías Baixas Wine Route they strive to offer wine tourism products of the highest quality and, therefore, it is the only Galician itinerary recognized by the Wine Routes of Spain and included in the Guide to Accessible Wine Routes for Everyone who publishes the State Representative Platform of People with Physical Disabilities (Predif).
